So today, I'm sat in my Media lesson, period one. Sat at a computer that wasn't working, in fact, when two girls that I've only really known for three weeks, Charlotte and Arabella, sat down at the computer next to me.
We exchanged our usual greetings, usually consisting of a punch in the arm as well and immediately launched into a conversation about the weekend, puppies, strange men, etc. You know how it goes.
Anyway, around an hour later, close to the time that our period two was starting but we have a double Media, so it didn't matter; we somehow got onto about how one of their friends showered naked with a girl and a boy asked them if they would do it.
Of course, that made Arabella announce, "Would you shower naked with a girl?" in a somewhat joking fashion.
I made a comment, or answered the question shall we say, without thinking and it just seemed to tumble out of my mouth, "Yeah sure!"
Then it goes silent for two seconds as they look at me, then cue the inevitable question, "Are you a lesbian?"
I couldn't help but grin at them and shrug, "Well... yeah, I like girls."
And I got bombarded with questions like, did I have a girlfriend, who did I fancy, had I slept with any girls, etc. Then once we had exhausted that, it was back to our conversation.
It has to be the first time I've ever said yes to that question, the first time I've ever said it outloud to girls of my own age and it has to be the first time and last time I'll probably ever get a reaction/acceptance as good as theirs.
They probably don't know it; but I'm so very grateful to them for that and so pleased that they didn't start assuming or being paranoid that I'd be all over them or something like that.
Instead, it was a case of laughing about it, then acting like it was a normal part of the conversation, we moved on. I've had a great day all in all.
Straight hair, told two girls what I really think about my sexuality, got hugged more in one day than I've been hugged in five years and helped a hot girl get the hot chocolate off her jeans, ohhohohohohohohohohohohohoh.

Oh yeah... college.

Started three weeks ago. Just started my third week this week. Feels like it's been ages, I swear. And to think I've got two years of this stuff.

I'm taking Physical Education, Religion and Philosophy, and a Media Diploma. (Media Diploma counts as two subjects.)

I have to admit, I know I'm sixteen years old and all that and it's not like I haven't been independant before, but I feel much more adult and more 'on my own' but in the good way. I like it, all this responsibility and pressure to get this done and that done.

I got my scooter yesterday, so I've now been able to drive myself in and out of college and wherever I want to go. I even went for a ride along the river after I got home today.

But yeah, college is crazy. My two folders and my backpack, aren't big enough to hold all my work for just one subject. And I've got five!

I've got five different teachers for PE, because there's four different areas of it I've got to do. Biology side, socio-cultural side, actual physical activity side and skills side of it.

I've got two different teachers for RE. One for Religion which is Hinduism. That is crazy, Hinduism is crazy. Love it. And a teacher for Philosophy, which is also awesome. Getting to watch The Matrix for homework, studying things like Allegory Cave, greek philosophers, etc. It's all stimulating, totally.

Then there's three different teachers for my Media Diploma. One for the main Media, one for Photography and Video Analysis and one for Film, which we're doing the History of Horror.

Then there's enrichment, which is basically an activity you choose to do at the beginning to do every Wendesday. I chose mixed hockey. That's pretty intense. We do it from 1:30pm til 5:00pm.

On top of all that, we get like at least fifteen hours of homework every week. Excluding specific study periods, which are basically a period without a teacher in a room studying whatever subject it's pinpointed to. We have free periods, too. But not very many. Like two or three a week, depending on timetables really.

It's all just really crazy, simply because it's totally different to anything I've experienced and I haven't been to school for three years before this.

Funny thing is; I'm not struggling. It's a challenge but goddamn, it's a great bit of fresh air. I wouldn't say I was 'loving' the whole thing, but I am making the most of the fact that I'm having to use my brain non-stop all day for a change.

I'm tired all the time, I even went to sleep for half an hour with my head on my friend's shoulder at lunch today, but you know what? I never thought I'd be so content to be tired.
